This weekend I finally got to photograph Shea and Joey’s wedding!!! I knew that I would have so¬† much fun at their wedding and that they would be awesome to work with and they did not let me down. I am such a lucky girl because I somehow manage to get the best couples ever to work with. They are all laid back, sweet, kind, totally in love with each other and trust me to get beautiful photos for them and let me do my thang ūüėČ Shea and Joey were absolutely perfect and I love this one frame of them so much! This is their first photo together as newlyweds and I hope that they will cherish it and I am honored to have been there for this moment and to capture it for them:)

The older I get, I find that I am becoming more and more nostalgic. I long for the simplicity of a warm spring day, riding down a dirt road in a pickup truck, windows rolled down, wind blowing my hair and making it into a tangled, stringy mess. My grandma used to gripe at my grandpa on those days for bringing me home with such a knotted mop of hair, but I didn’t care, and I guess he didn’t either¬†because he kept taking me:)

So, when my little family and I decided to take a trip back to Arkansas last month to visit family, my heart smiled at the idea of long, slow days and sipping coffee on the patio under the trees. It’s so important to me that my son learn that it’s¬†nice to stop and appreciate the world around you, and no where in the world is it easier for me to do that than in my Dad’s backyard next to his homegrown, organic garden.

We drove 8 hours to get there, with a toddler and a dog in the backseat and lots of stops for rest and food and then just let the days unfold. We went out to the lake and I soaked up the family time and sunshine and did what I love, took pictures of my family just being themselves. Not every photo is perfect, some were taken in a bouncing car on a gravel road, but I love them all. And now I can’t wait to get back to a few days of peace and quiet in my Dad’s back yard:)

I love everything about spring. The sun, blue sky, fresh air, new growth and life. It’s my favorite time of year. Being a part of Brian and Danielle’s wedding on what was a gorgeous spring day was so wonderful and I am so happy I got to watch these two get married and celebrate what they have together! When I did their engagement session, these guys were SO into each other. They gazed into each other’s eyes, kissed and were just so sweet to each other and I knew their wedding would just be amazing to witness. Danielle smiled so big as she walked down the aisle and Brian’s beam was just as bright, and the tears they both had in their eyes were beautiful. (I¬†cried too¬†:))

Danielle and Brian had a first look on their wedding day and I’m so so glad they did this. They were able to get lots of beautiful photos together, but more importantly, they were able to share an intimate moment together alone. I could see Danielle visibly breathe a little easier after seeing Brian and him working his calming magic on her. It was lovely:)

Ahhhhhh…..I love love:)

I started this night with every intention of doing a full blog post of Brian and Danielle’s wedding. I went through all of their images ans chose my favorites and realized there were WAY too many for a post. After TWO hours, I still can barely narrow it down!!! That is such a testiment to what a beautiful day it was and the love that these two have for each other. There are so many perfect moments and lovely smiles, that I just could not pick just a few, at least not tonight….

So, in the meantime, here is ONE of my favorites. I just love how natural and loving these two are with each other. Stay tuned for much more:)

Zach and Sam had such a sweet and beautiful wedding day and I am so happy to have been their photographer. I am so lucky to work with such wonderful people and Zach and Sam were such a sweet, easy going couple who were very visibly in love and it was very touching to witness their wedding and be a part of it all. The ceremony was originally planned to be outdoors with lots of outdoor portraits, but it rained. And I mean it RAINED!! POURED! But, these guys did not let that ruffle their feathers or put a damper on their day. The wedding was still beautiful and everything  pulled together perfectly.

Their wedding had lots of rustic touches and some really cute DIY touches, like the centerpieces and the super cute guest card holder! The entire event was held at Myers Park and Event Center in McKinney, TX which was the perfect venue for their rustic theme.
